"In the finest traditions of country house hospitality, we were thoroughly pampered.
Luckily the area has some idyllic walking country - essential if one is to walk off such
hearty breakfasts."
Arnie Wilson, Financial Times Travel Writer.

The comfort and quality of the accommodation we found was exceptional, but more
important than that was the food! Maria cooks amazing breakfasts, afternoon teas
and full dinners (including wine too) for an all-in price. I can honestly say we were
overwhelmed by the hospitality we found at Roineabhal - excellent ingredients and
appetising choice of dishes. There's plenty to see in the area, but if you just fancy
sitting in the rocking chair on the veranda and listening to the burn running by, it's
an ideal retreat at a very welcoming price.

Thank you very much for your warm hospitality and a lovely weekend in your beautiful home. The cooking was excellent, and you did wonderfully well at coping with our various complications. We don't know whether we will be able to come back to Scotland next year but we certainly hope to come and stay with you again in the not too distant future.

Thank you very much once again for the pleasant stay in your house. At least we had some less rain in the end and visited Edinburgh and a cloudless sky. However. both we got a cold and now we are coming up again, thereby we are still enjoying the smoked ("your") salmon from Smokehouse Inverawe, and also the Whisky!!

Just to let you know that we completed our 12 day cycling trip from Berwick-on-Tweed to Beasdale near Arisaig on the Road to the Isles and have raised over £1500 for the charity Teenage Cancer Trust. Thank you all for the hospitality shown to us and our bicycles. If we are ever in your area again we will definitely pay you another visit. We fell in love with the Crinan Canal and Kilmartin, visited lona and saw otters on Ardnamurchan. Our only drama was Ted's old 1940's bike failing along a very hilly, lonely stretch beside Loch Awe. He pushed and free-wheeled for 6 miles before we sought help from 'Norman' in the tiny village of Dalavich. Even Norman was beaten so we loaded the bike onto our support car and took it to Oban. There it stayed in intensive care while Ted hired a super new bike on which to complete the journey

I don't know if you will remember me, my Father and Sister and I stayed at your beautiful place a couple of years ago. I asked you for your shortbread recipe and you sent it to me. I make it on special occasions and everyone wants the recipe but I keep it secret. (American shortbread is icky) My Sister Susie wants a batch every year for Christmas I make it and when we eat it, it reminds us of your beautiful country.
Best Wishes, Merry Christmas
